Jennifer Raymond, MA
Registered Psychologist
For over 20 years, Jennifer has been a registered psychologist supporting individuals and families in healing and connection. Formerly with Purple Couch Psychology, she brings warmth, curiosity, and clinical expertise to her work with adults, couples, and families, integrating developmental, attachment, and trauma-informed perspectives.
Earlier in her career, Jennifer worked as a preschool teacher, where she developed a deep understanding of child development and a strong appreciation for how early attachment experiences shape emotional and relational wellbeing across the lifespan. She has completed extensive post-graduate training in developmental trauma, infant mental health, complex PTSD, autism, ADHD, play therapy, OCD/PANDAS, and couples therapy.
Jennifer’s current research examines how attachment and trauma shape adult personality development.
Services
Adults
Jennifer supports adults navigating emotional and psychological challenges by drawing on her expertise in attachment theory, developmental trauma, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and child development. She believes that strategies and skills are most effective when informed by an understanding of one’s early life experiences. Often, beliefs and behaviours that once served us in childhood may become limiting in adulthood.
Common concerns addressed in therapy include depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), relationship difficulties, grief and loss, trauma (including complex trauma), dissociation, sexuality, addiction, and attachment issues.
Couples
Jennifer offers support to couples experiencing conflict, whether they are working to strengthen their relationship or navigating separation with care. Her approach is grounded in attachment theory, helping each partner better understand their role in the relationship dynamic.
Through a combination of insight-building and practical tools, couples are guided to improve communication, manage conflict more effectively, and foster empathy and connection. Franz & Raymond welcomes couples of all genders and orientations.
When a child is struggling, it's natural to want quick and effective solutions. While individual therapy may be helpful for some children and teens, often the most impactful path involves working directly with parents. As the most important figure in your child’s life, your ability to connect and support them is key to their emotional well-being.
Jennifer collaborates with families to determine the most effective approach, often blending individual and parent-focused therapy. When possible, the first intake session is for parents only, allowing for a thoughtful and customized treatment plan to be developed.
Common referral concerns include behavioural challenges, anxiety (including OCD), emotional outbursts, sibling conflict, school-related issues, peer and relationship struggles, ADHD, autism, self-harm, body image concerns, emotional and sensory sensitivities, special needs, sexuality, defiance, addiction, and attachment issues.

Parenting
Parenting is one of the most rewarding—and challenging—roles we take on. Research shows that the early years of a child’s life are profoundly influential, with secure, attuned relationships playing a vital role in long-term mental and physical health. However, even with the best intentions, many factors can disrupt the parent-child bond, including intergenerational trauma, mental health concerns, relationship stress, or a parent’s own unresolved experiences.
Jennifer works collaboratively with parents on a wide range of concerns, offering support for everything from everyday parenting struggles to complex relational and developmental challenges.
